FAQ – Maternity Photography
Q: When should I have my maternity photos taken?
A: I recommend having your maternity pictures no later than 35 weeks and no earlier then 30. I want to make sure you easily look pregnant and can still move around relatively comfortably. I also don’t want to schedule your photos so close to your due date that you deliver your baby before your session.
Q: Can my husband and other children be in the maternity photos with me?
A: Absolutely! With younger children, I recommend asking grandma or a great neighbor to bring your kids a the beginning of the session. We’ll do all the photos involving the children at the beginning and then grandma can take them back home while we finish up with you and your husband.
Q: What should I wear at my session?
A: What to wear is always the most stressful part of any session! The obvious idea is to showcase your cute belly! A fitted tank or t-shirt, a dress or skirt that is fitted around your belly is a good way to accentuate the roundness of your tummy. If you want to show off your bare belly, you could wear a fitted shirt rolled above your belly. Ask me about the option of wearing some of the dresses we have in studio. Colors are going to vary depending on the season!
Q: What if I have stretch marks?
A: I am a great retouch artist, if you want your stretch marks removed, no problem!
Q: What if I go into labor before my maternity session?
A: Truth is that you just might! If you’ve paid for your maternity + newborn package in advance, you will be refunded your full amount.
Q: Do you offer special pricing if you photograph my maternity and my newborn?
A: I do offer a discount on each session if you book them all together. I also offer a discount if you schedule a birthing session with your maternity and newborn session.
Q: How soon do I need to call to book my session?
A: I highly recommend calling as soon as you find out you are expecting. I know it sounds crazy, but I start to fill up so quickly-especially during my busy seasons-that to guarantee that I can get you in, you need to call early!
Q: How much fun can I expect to have at my session?
Just kidding, no one really asks that. I think that not many people equate photo shoots with fun, but I will put you at ease and we will be laughing and smiling by the end of your session!
