Major Changes for Two Color Photography

Many of you know the story of my humble beginnings over 14 years ago.

So many of you have been by my side since day one. Sometimes I look at the images from those first sessions and I’m amazed and SO grateful that so many of you stuck by me at a time when I hadn’t earned it yet.

One of my first newborn sessions: approx. 8 years ago

I’ve been my biggest critic trying to learn something from each and every session, trying to earn the trust you have placed in me.  I don’t have the words to adequately express my gratitude for each of you and the impact you’ve each made on my life.

Now that 2014 has come to an end, I find myself reflecting on the moments that have touched me the most.  2014 has been by far my busiest year.
Here’s some stats for you:
Family sessions = 120
Newborn sessions = 54
Baby sessions (1 month-1 year) = 36
Child sessions = 24
Teens/senior sessions =  19
Maternity sessions = 6
Wedding/engagement/bridal sessions = 24
Model sessions = 6
Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep sessions = 8
Annual Peak session (gymnasts/tumblers/cheeleaders/preschoolers) = 225 kids
Workshops taught = 6
Workshops attended = 6
Studio construction hours = a batrillion (I had to add that for my husband who is amazing at construction)
One of the most memorable events from 2014 was attending WPPI in Las Vegas and rubbing shoulders with photographers I have admired for years.
It has been an amazing, amazing year!  I have snapped over 150,000 pictures this year!
About 5 years ago after attending an amazing photography conference in Salt Lake City, I decided to specialize in newborn/baby photography with a secondary focus on family photography.  It took a lot of work, a lot of money, a lot of patience and a lot of poop to get where I am in the world of newborns, but as I look at my year with your precious babies, that is where I have been the very happiest.  Snuggling your babies.
That leads me to the biggest decision I have ever made in my business.  Two Color Photography is discontinuing it’s wedding photography line to give me more time to focus on my newborn line.  I have met so many amazing brides.  Most of those brides have come back to me for their newborns/babies and family pictures, and that makes me so very happy!  I have a few brides already on the calendar for 2015, and your contracts will be honored and we will have an amazing time together, but I will not be booking any more weddings.

I do have an associate who does amazing wedding photography and I will be referring all wedding inquiries to him.  Mike Johnson with Endless Photography – go check out his work to see why he is my exclusive wedding referral: Endless Photography

I will still be available for Family, senior, baby, children, maternity, birthing……
I will also be offering 4 all day newborn mentoring/workshops in 2015.
Dates for 2015 full day mentoring workshops:
Spring Workshop – March 7th
   10 spots available
Summer Workshop – June 6th
   10 spots available
Fall Workshop – September 19th
   10 spots available
Winter Workshop – December 12th
   8 spots available
And of course I look forward to snuggling close to 100 newborns in 2015!  (That may be a lofty goal, but so far we are on track to achieve that)!
